2011 Schools visit comes to life

A big day today!

The team of students and staff who will be going to South Africa met for the first time today.
There will be lots of challenges ahead. Plenty of highs & lows no doubt... but it feels like a really important day today.... and it is!

There will be 11 students (8 from Year 10 and 3 Year 12) from our two local high schools, Great Wyrley Performing Arts High School and Cheslyn Hay Sport and Community High School.

In the months ahead they will be working hard at fundrasing and getting themselves prepared for the visit to our three partner charities in South Africa- Hands@Work in Africa, Mercy AIr, and Baby Bear Project.

We leave on 8 July 2011 for 2 weeks in SOuth Africa, working alongside people who work for these charities. We hope to encourage and support the workers while we are there, offer practical help and then, when we return tell others about the work they do.

Hopefully they will be able to tell you on the blog how things are gong for them.

I look forward to reading their thoughts.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more about the Link 4 Life Project or if you would like to support the young people or the charities they will visit. Thanks
